Darts tonight

Another Thursday, another night of darts. Let's hope the power stays on for us tonight.





Last week we all showed up and just as we were getting ready to begin playing, the power went kablooey! We all hung around, hoping it would turn back on again so we could play. Around 9:30pm some people gave up and left, but the majority of us stuck around cuz we live in the neighborhood and what were we gonna do but go home and freeze alone. (Plus i had to stay until hubby got there at least - which was gonna be close to 10:30PM)

It turned out to be a really fun night! I started off alone at my own table. I tried to chat with people but i felt ignored (which i prolly wasn't being ignored but it felt like it) so I went off by myself. Eventually space opened up at the bar so i could join my fellow dart players. Since there was no music and no TV and basically no other distractions, we actually had to talk to each other while we were there and interact. And lemme tell you it was FUN!!! I forgot how much fun a simple night could be.

Hubby got there around 10:30pm as expected. We were still clueless as to how long the power was gonna be out, so he got on the phone with a co-worker whose hubby works for DTE and according to him power was expected to be restored around 12:30AM. Which was a much better estimation than someone else there whose friend flagged down a DTE worker on the street and was told sometimes around 3AM!!!

So we hung out and chatted and had fun and at 12:25 things hummed back to life!!! well except for the jukebox, but that was okay. So we settled up our tab and came home to a warm house. Lucky for us tho, even if the power hadn't come on, we have a gas fireplaces with a friction start in the basement, so we were already planning to curl up there for the night. Hubby had even gone home and got the fire going before he even came up to the bar. He's pretty cool sometimes.

I'm pretty sure power is gonna stay on tonight since it's not nearly as cold as it was last week. But even if it doesn't, I'm sure I'm gonna have a good time regardless.
