I'm feeling a little better than I did when I first got home. It's tough. I'm gonna make some phone calls tomorrow and see if I can't borrow the money. Maybe get an advance from work. Maybe ask my dad and Denise if I can borrow a couple bucks. We can borrow on Kevin's check and get an advance, but that will JUST cover my tether fees to begin. Then we need to pay the phone bill (cuz I need one for the tether) and we also have Kevin's bills to pay. The upside of everything is that hopefully I'll be done with the court system when I'm done with this. The downside is of course the money. And I need to talk to my probation officer to have him find someplace for me to go for counseling. There's no way I can afford it now. Not with putting out almost 1000$ in a week. That's more than we bring home in 2 weeks. The judge doesn't care. He'd just as soon see me go to jail. I know it.

SO anyway, I also yelled at my mom today, which I know I shouldn't have. She was driving me crazy with stupid questions and told me Papa wanted me to call him. He wanted to tell me about these lawyers that supposedly work out of a church in Detroit offering free legal advice to people who need it. They're ordered to do it by the court systems. Yeah. Lots of good that does me now. And lemme tell you. I've heard that story come out of him AND my mama before. But what church is it? Don't know. What days' are they there? Don't know. It's like this urban legend. Besides, what the hell good does that do me now? I already went to court. I already got sentenced. It's not gonna mean a damn thing. I'll call him tomorrow anyway just to say hi. I don't want to. But I will.

My comments thing isn't working either. And I can't get the site where I got them from to open for me. I keep getting A "page cannot be displayed" message. *grrr* Oh well. I know everyone loves me and wishes me the best. There's only like 3 people that actually read this thing anyway. Heck I don't even know why they do half the time.

Okay I'm getting bitter again. I need to go to sleep. Love you all!!!

Just got back from court. I'm devastated. Yep. That's the right word. Devastated. I was sentenced to $600 court costs and fines plus alcohol tether for 30 days and 30 days jail. I go in front of the judge on Feb 17th for a review. Probation officer said pretty much that if i'm still on tether and am doing okay that he'll probably just extend it the 30 days I'm supposed to be in jail. I have until next Thursday the 22nd to go to Hamtramck to get the tether put on me. I need $260 when I show up. Plus it's $105 a week. I'm going to take a nap right now because I can't think about this right now. The tether itself doesn't worry me. I can go 60 days without drinking. That's no big deal. It's the money. Everytime we think we're going to get ahead, we get hit. And it's all my fault, I know it is. I'm not escaping blame. But an ALCOHOL TETHER for a non- alcohol related offense!?!?! GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!

Under the house arrest tether, the defendant is required to lease an ankle bracelet and computer reporting device. The cost, a deposit for the devices as well as a per day fee, are paid by the defendant. The bracelet is to be worn at all times during the term of the program and the computer reporting device located in the home tracks when the participant is at home as ordered by the court. Defendants are allowed to leave for employment and court ordered activities only. Should the defendant damage the device in any way, not only will s/he be charged with a probation violation and required to pay for the cost of the device that was damaged, s/he will be charged criminally. These services are provided by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Tether Program which makes it a priority to go out and arrest violators.

The alcohol tether device is similar to the house arrest tether, except that the defendant has the additional ability to test the defendant’s breath for alcohol. The defendant is required to blow into a device attached to their telephone line. This device measures the defendant’s blood alcohol content. If alcohol is detected, the defendant will be brought to court to show cause why he/she should not be held in contempt for a violation of their probation and punished accordingly. Violators often go to jail.
