A Poem From Kevin to Me

I was going thru more boxes today (we have a ton of crap) and I found a poem Kevin gave me as a gift on Valentine's day 2002. I thought I lost it when trancegirls.com went down and was so heartbroken I never told him. When i found it today I cried tears of joy! Here it is:

Happy Valentines Day Feb 2002

Never

Every day I wake if only for the hope of her smile
A gentle caress and a playful push
So much a woman I'm almost afraid
So much a girl I can never do enough
Her smile sends shivers through my mind
Some days I miss her so much it becomes unbearable
Completing me as I never imagined
the heart of Juliet
the mind of Austen
And a soul the god & goddesses envy over

OMG I forgot the best part!

I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT THIS!?! I got emails back from Nadine!! *hugs* San *more hugs* and Joel!!!! Joels is doing postdoc teaching at Stanford...got his PhD in English @ Berkley ...yea my brain feels extremely jealous lol...San is in San Francisco! And NADINE!!!! She happened to search for her name online recently and found her name HERE in MY BLOG!!! *hugs* How cool is that? *hugs* I missed her so much!!! Somewhere I still have a gold dipped Gingko leaf pendant that I bought for her specifically and never got to mail ( i don't remember why) I have to get the scanner working this weekend so I can scan some pics I have that I found from school (and visits thereafter) It totally made my day!!!

What I've been up to LOL

:et's see where to begin? Well, obviously I went and saw Bruce Campbell on Friday evening as you heard I'm sure (i still can't listen I have no sound on my puter boo-hoo) It was so fantastic! I had a great time (even tho the movie itself was pretty cheese-tastic..."Man With a Screaming Brain" ... with a title like that it had to be cheese) Afterwards we went up to the ToyBox and i met a guy that works on pools for an apt complex so i picked his brain a little bit. He filled me in on the bar and stuff and also told me about our pool and what we need to do etc...so that was good.

OH! I went swimming Friday night after Kevin went to sleep! We had the water tested and it was fine, so I decided what the hell! It was fabulous...a little chilly...but the hard part was getting out. See we don't have a ladder so to get out you have to pull yourself up onto the edge...not fun! Esp not for a chunky woman like me. At one point I thought I was going to be in the pool until Kevin woke up for work...pruned beyond recognition lol. But I did finally manage to get myself outta there thank the gods. Until we get a ladder I'm gonna have to put like a chair or something in the water to step up on to get out.

Saturday I went thru a couple boxes of crap that we moved over here. We have so much junk it's not even funny. I am such a packrat. I have tons of letters and such from way back when i was a teenager. And newspapers galore!!! I don't even know why I saved half of them, but i did. Most were cuz of hockey pics I'm sure. So I went thru most of those and cut out the pics I wanted and it left a whole mail bin full of papers that we now have in the garage as kindling lol. It made me nostalgic tho, so i looked up a few people online to see if I could find out where they are now. There was even a letter from someone I didn't even remember writing! A couple of them. Gautum Dutta. He's like a lawyer in D.C. now ... still looks the same...and a entrywaymate (we had entryways @ Yale...I was in "D"...then we had floors in the entryways...I was on the 2nd floor with Angel, Priy, & Josephine as my dormmates & across the hall was Nadine, Karen, Kirsten and Tanya...Upstairs was Judy (and the gorgeous John and Paul ... Korean hotties who used to let me borrow their sweaters to wear and stuff...first heard Harry Connick @ a xmas party they had off campus) ...and downstairs was "The Pit" with San, Joel, Ollie & Antony and across from them were Doug, Brad, Tom & Scott...spent alot of time in the pit lemme tell you...it sucked you in...) ANYWAY....one of the guys downstairs in the entryway is now living in Birmingham, MI according to the AYA. Wish I had been better friends with him I would contact him. But as it was I emailed a couple...Nadine, San, Joel & Judy...& hoped to hear back, see how they were...tell them how much I miss them. OH! And Sat Joey & Julie came by with the boys for a few on their way to a party @ one of Kevin's uncle's house. He lives about 5 minutes away from us. I have to say I was a little hurt none of them asked me if I wanted to go anyway even tho kevin couldn't go. But oh well...I wouldn't have known anyone there anyway.

Sunday was absolutely nasty!!! We had a huge storm here in the A.M and it only made things hotter and muggier in the P.M. but we had already made plans to have Tod come over and powerwash the deck & there was no chance to resch. so he came over around 2pm. Man that washer took off alot of paint!! It really does look better tho & we already got the stain to restain it so it will be gorgeous on August 12th when we have the party. I also went thru more papers and showed my mom old pics I had from yale and stuff. More nostalgia. I really do miss my girlfriends from there. They were the best I ever had. You don't make friends like you make in college. After they were done powerwashing everything we went out to eat (Mom's treat lol) @ Sandy's by the Beech...a pub type place where Tod's cousin works as a cook...so we got a free appetizer lol. The food was excellent! We were gonna go to the drive in Sunday night but it was so completely muggy and miserable we decided to rent and stay home in the nice cool A/C ;-)

Let's see....Monday we went shopping for some stuff for around the house (like a rake, citronella candle, pool supplies, etc....) and we ended up @ Art Van cuz they were having a huge sale in their clearance center. We didn't realize they were also having an Xmas in July Sale. So we went wandering around and they checked to see if we could get financing...and we could (I say we...I mean Kevin lol) so we bought a sofa, loveseat, coffee table and matching end table (just one) all for under $2000!!! So our payments will be around $70/month. The furniture is gorgeous! I love it! It's a dual reclining sofa with built in massage & the center back folds down as a table...the loveseat also has a dual recliner & it rocks...and the coffee table lifts up!!! I'll take pics when they get here! I'm so excited! It's our first furniture together!

And that's about it. Yesterday I didn't do much of anything. It was raining all day so I couldn't take care of the pool (which is gorgeous btw) and I pretty much watched TV most of the day ... I've been recording every single movie I've ever wanted to see and haven't yet....so today I'm going thru boxes right now and a little later I'll go take care of the pool and scrub the sides and check the chlorine etc....Nothing too exciting.

OH! I work the next 2 Fridays in New Boston karaoke and Paul is supposed to show me how he runs his mp3s on his laptop (using Musicmatch...i pretty much know that system already) and I may be doing a job in dearborn on the 21st! And he said he doesn't like to DJ so if any come up he'll keep me at the top of the list. Pretty exciting! I also applied for a job @ hollywood video and I'm gonna check out the mcdonald's around the corner from us and there's a bar that's hiring as well. Just something to keep us in spending money since I'm not working every week like i was.

I'm so much happier here than I ever was in the other places. I dont' know if it's cuz it's ours or cuz there's more sunlight or cuz Ihave access to outside or what it is, but I don't find myself as sad or irritable .... I know it's bad but I haven't even taken my St. Jonh's Wort since we moved. Maybe I suffer from seasonal depression...who knows. We are going to be going to a doctor soon tho for physicals, so I may find out yet!

OKAY..time to get back to them boxes. At least I can watch TV as I go thru them lol cuz I have about 10 movies to watch. *hugs*
