WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you hang my first
painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately
wanted to paint another one.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed a stray cat,
and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make my favorite
cake for me and I learned that the little things can be the
special things in life.
When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say a prayer,
and I knew there is a God I could always talk to and
I learned to trust in God.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make a
meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I
learned that we all have to help
take care of each other.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of your
time and money to help people who had nothing
and I learned that those who have something
should give to those who don't.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you take
care of our house and everyone in it and I learned
we have to take care of what we are given.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw how you handled
your responsibilities, even when you didn't feel good
and I learned that I would have to be responsible
when I grow up.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw tears come from
your eyes and I learned that sometimes things hurt,
but it's all right to cry.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw that you ca"

"MINNEAPOLIS, MN—In a turn of events the 30-year-old characterized as 'horrifying,' Kevin Widmar announced Tuesday that his mother Lillian has discovered his weblog.
Above: Widmar, whose blog was recently discovered by his mother Lillian (inset).
'Apparently, Mom typed [Widmar's employer] Dean Healthcare into Google along with my name and, lo and behold, PlanetKevin popped up,' Widmar said. 'I'm so fucked.'
In an e-mail sent to Widmar Monday, Lillian reported in large purple letters that she was 'VERY EXCITED :)!!!' to find his 'computer diary,' but was perplexed that he hadn't mentioned it to her.
Upon receipt of the e-mail, Widmar mentally raced through the contents of his blog. He immediately thought of several dozen posts in which he mentioned drinking, drug use, casual sex, and other behavior likely to alarm his mother.
'I don't have one of those sites that's a big tell-all about one-night stands and wild parties,' Widmar said. 'I mostly write about the animation I like or little things that happen to me and my friends. But there are definitely things in there that I wouldn't, well, write home to Mom about.'
Fortunately for Widmar, Lillian's comments about the site indicate that she has not delved deeply into its contents.
'Mom's main comment was that I look tired in the photos from my birthday party, so I'm guessing that she didn't get past the first page yet,' Widmar said. 'She will, though. She will.'
Widmar said he expects his site to provide Lillian with ample cause for worry.
'Even on that benign front page, she found something to freak out about,' Widmar said. 'She read the entry for Monday, where I mentioned how much I hate my job, and e-mailed to say that she hoped I wasn't thinking o"

High Court in Massachusetts Rules Gays Have Right to Marry
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
BOSTON -- Massachusetts' highest court ruled Tuesday that same-sex couples are legally entitled to wed under the state constitution, but stopped short of allowing marriage licenses to be issued to the couples who challenged the law.
The Supreme Judicial Court's 4-3 ruling ordered the Legislature to come up with a solution within 180 days.
The ruling closely matches the 1999 Vermont Supreme Court decision, which led to its Legislature's approval in 2000 of civil unions that give couples many of the same benefits of marriage.
"Marriage is a vital social institution. The exclusive commitment of two individuals to each other nurtures love and mutual support. It brings stability to our society," Chief Justice Margaret Marshall wrote in the long-awaited ruling. "For those who choose to marry, and for their children, marriage provides an abundance of legal, financial and social benefits. In return, it imposes weighty legal, financial, and social obligations."
While a victory for gay rights advocates, the decision fell short of what the seven couples who sued the state had hoped to receive: the right to marry their longtime companion.
The Massachusetts question will now return to the Legislature, which already is considering a constitutional amendment that would legally define a marriage as a union between one man and one woman. The state's powerful Speaker of the House, Tom Finneran of Boston, has endorsed this proposal.
A similar initiative, launched by citizens, was defeated by the Legislature last year on a procedural vote.
Gay and lesbian advocates had been cheered by a series of advances this year, including a U.S. Supreme Court decision striking down anti-sodomy laws, the ordination of an openly gay bishop in the Episcopal Church, and a Canadian appeals court ruling that it was unconstitutional to deny gay couples the same marriage rights as heterosexual couples. Belgium and the Netherlands also have legalized gay marriage.
In addition to Vermont, courts in Hawaii and Alaska have previously ruled that the states did not have a right to deny marriage to gay couples. In those two states, the decisions were followed by the adoption of constitutional amendments limiting marriage to heterosexual couples. No American court has ordered the issuance of a marriage license -- a privilege reserved for heterosexual couples.
The U.S. House is currently considering a constitutional ban on gay marriage. President Bush, although he believes marriage should be defined as a union between one man and one woman, recently said that a constitutional amendment is not yet necessary.
Gov. Mitt Romney has repeatedly said that marriage should be preserved as a union between a man and a woman, but has declined to comment on what he would do if gay marriages are legalized. On the campaign trail last fall, Romney said he would veto gay-marriage legislation. He supports giving domestic benefits such as inheritance and hospital visitation rights to gay couples.

MAN! I could not sleep last night to save my life! My brain wouldn't shut off. If i wasn't thinking about cokemusic, then i was thinking about neopets or the matrix:revolutions or thanksgiving dinner or cleaning and organizing the apt.... I was a mess i tell you! I went to bed around 12:30am .... would have given me a little under 7 hours sleep before court today had i been able to sleep straight thru. But silly me, i had to wake up at 3am and then there was so much noise in the bedroom (sorry Kevin) that I got up and moved to the living room. Then i just lay there. Until around 4:30 or 5am. Thinking all those thoughts. I couldn't stop it! I tried relaxing and focusing on the chalkboard (like i used to) ... It's a really cool excesize to clear your thoughts before you go to sleep. You write everything down on a chalkboard in your mind and then erase them one by one until they're all gone and you can go to sleep. Didn't work last night! So, like i said, I finally get to sleep somewhere close to 5 and Kevin woke me up at 7am .... felt like i had 30 minutes of sleep. Less even cuz i was dreaming i was already awake and ready to face the day!
So anyway, one cup of coffee later and a quick peek at Neopets (didn't sell anything but omelettes all night long. Usually i sell 4K or more overnight. Must have to restock different stuff) and I'm almost ready to face the day. I have to go to court today. And no one is going with me. So wish me luck. Today is just a chat with the prosecutor. If they don't offer me something good, I'll decline and set another court date. Then i'll have to get a court appointed atty. I don't want to. 9 times out of 10 they suck! You have to pay 200 bucks or more for them and they don't let you in on the bargaining process and the judge here in Wyandotte doesn't take anyone's recommendation anyway. He does whatever the hell he wants. He's an ass. And to think .... I voted for him! What was I thinking????
So this is for my accident still. I have 3 tickets... driving on a revoked license... yellow light violation ... and no proof of insurance. Should be fun. I don't understand how i can have a no proof of insurance that's my fault if it wasn't my car! *rolls eyes* Just glad that guy stopped calling us and coming by.
Okay... time to get ready. Again, wish me luick! I'll let you know how it goes!

Around, all around, the shadows gather.
My dread grows as the Dark One's touch falls against my naked soul.
It wounds me, and darkly my
essence drips
to the wicked earth that is my prison.
In my madness I beg forgiveness
while Death's shadow laughs cruelly.
Now alone, my cascade of tears falls upon bleeding eyes.
This is my salvation
Untitled
the night falls as if slain by the sun, cold and alone are we.
the salvation for which you sacrifice yourself
flares once, then dies,
smothered by the all-encompassing dark.
all hope must surely perish.
your heart beats no more.
how could you fail to believe?
spirits surround us, crying,
we are fallen.
