*ugh* i got carded last night for beer. I went into 7-11 to get a 6 pack and the young kid (couldn't be more than 20) asked for my ID. I didn't have it (so i thought) I was like "seriously? I'm 31 gonna be 32 in about 20 days" and he was serious. So i said "fine I'll let my fiance come in and get it" and he wouldn't let Kevin buy it. Said he knew it was for me. So I went outside and dug thru my purse and found it and he was all "people lie about being over 21 all the time" and i was like "seriously look at me. I KNOW i look over 21. I'm almost 32 for crying out loud" And stormed out of there with beer in hand. the part that made me mad was not so much the carding me as the not letting Kevin buy. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Well I'm feeling a little better. I know Kevin feels bad about having to work friday. He took me out for dinner tonight. Sushi. It was yummy. I'm still upset about the whole thing. Kevin needs to talk to them and tell them when he has things planned they need to respect him and let him leave. It's not even a matter of asking for the time off...it's just that they don't let him leave when he's supposed to cuz they have parties coming in and stuff. *ugh* I hate that place. I really really do.
On a better note....Kevin is in the process of getting pre-approved for a mortgage. YAY! So we went around and looked at a few houses around town today. We'll probably do some more looking in the next couple weeks before we get a realtor. To kinda get a feel what's out there and where.

LOS ANGELES -- Rodney Dangerfield, the bug-eyed comic whose self-deprecating one-liners brought him stardom in clubs, television and movies and made his lament "I don't get no respect" a catchphrase, died yesterday. He was 82.
Dangerfield fell into a coma after having a heart valve replaced Aug. 25 at the UCLA Medical Center. He suffered a small stroke after the operation and developed infectious and abdominal complications, publicist Kevin Sasaki said. But in the past week, he had emerged from the coma, Sasaki said.
"When Rodney emerged, he kissed me, squeezed my hand and smiled for his doctors," Dangerfield's wife, Joan, said in the statement. The comic is also survived by two children from a previous marriage.
As a comic, Dangerfield -- clad in a black suit, red tie and white shirt with collar that seemed too tight -- convulsed audiences with lines such as: "When I was born, I was so ugly that the doctor slapped my mother"; "When I started in show business, I played one club that was so far out my act was reviewed in Field and Stream"; and "Every time I get in an elevator, the operator says the same thing to me: 'Basement?' "
In 1986, he explained the origin of his "respect" trademark: "I had this joke: 'I played hide-and-seek; they wouldn't even look for me.' To make it work better, you look for something to put in front of it: I was so poor, I was so dumb, so this, so that. I thought, 'Now what fits that joke?' Well, 'No one liked me' was all right. But then I thought, a more profound thing would be, 'I get no respect.' "
He tried it at a New York club, and the joke drew a bigger response than ever. He kept the phrase in the act, and it seemed to establish a bond with his audience.
Dangerfield had a strange career in show business. At 19 he started as a stand-up comedian. He made only a fair living, traveling a great deal and appearing in run-down joints. Married at 27, he decided he couldn't support a family on his meager earnings.
He returned to comedy at 42 and began to attract notice. He appeared on the Ed Sullivan show seven times and on "The Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson more than 70 times.
After his standout film role in "Caddyshack," he began starring in his own movies.
He was born Jacob Cohen on Nov. 22, 1921, on Long Island, N.Y. Growing up in the borough of Queens, his mother was uncaring and his father was absent.
He ingratiated himself to his schoolmates by being funny; at 15 he was writing down jokes and storing them in a duffel bag. When he was 19, he adopted the name Jack Roy and tried out the jokes at a resort in the Catskills. The job paid $12 a week plus room and meals.
In New York, he drove a laundry and fish truck, taking time off to hunt for work as a comedian. The jobs came slowly, but in time he was averaging $300 a week.
He married Joyce Indig, a singer he met at a New York club. Both had wearied of the uncertainty of a performer's life. They settled in Englewood, N.J., had two children, Brian and Melanie, and he worked selling paint and siding. But the idyllic suburban life soured as the pair battled. The couple divorced in 1962, remarried a year later and again divorced.

i'm so pissed! I took friday off. I told Kevin i was taking friday off. I figured we could go do something go hang out with Larry and Ricky...something... he calls me today...tony wants to switch with him for friday. that's just fucking great. Never mind that we planned RUSH like MONTHs in advance and he still couldn't go.... he fucking jumps cuz tony wants a friday off. I swear he lets him take it and I'm gonna start looking for a job and move out.

"Rallying supporters in Tampa Friday Kerry played up his performance in Thursday night's debate in which many observers agreed the Massachusetts senator outperformed the president.
"'Didn't my nails and cuticles look great? What a good debate!' Kerry said Friday.
"With the foreign-policy debate in the history books, Kerry hopes to keep the pressure on and the sense of traction going.
"Aides say he will step up attacks on the president in the next few days, and pivot somewhat to the domestic agenda, with a focus on women and abortion rights.
"'It's about the Supreme Court. Women should like me! I do manicures,' Kerry said."
The item also quoted Kerry as saying of himself and President Bush: "I'm hetrosexual - he's a cowboy."
After withdrawing the item, Fox posted a statement on its Web site apologizing for the error. This is just sad. What kind of webmaster would post something like this let alone the person who wrote. it. just silly. Obviously someone was a little pissed that Kerry held his own in the debates on Thursday.

(AP) Fox News apologized Friday for posting phony quotes from Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry on its Web site.
Carl Cameron, a Fox reporter who covers the Kerry campaign, wrote an item that looked like a news story with made-up Kerry quotes, said Paul Schur, a Fox spokesman. The item was not intended to be posted on the site.
"Carl made a stupid mistake which he regrets," Schur said Friday night. "And he has been reprimanded for his lapse in judgment. It was a poor attempt at humor."
The phony item posted early Friday read in part:
"Rallying supporters in Tampa Friday Kerry played up his performance in Thursday night's debate in which many observers agreed the Massachusetts senator outperformed the president.
"'Didn't my nails and cuticles look great? What a good debate!' Kerry said Friday.
"With the foreign-policy debate in the history books, Kerry hopes to keep the pressure on and the sense of traction going.
"Aides say he will step up attacks on the president in the next few days, and pivot somewhat to the domestic agenda, with a focus on women and abortion rights.
"'It's about the Supreme Court. Women should like me! I do manicures,' Kerry said."
The item also quoted Kerry as saying of himself and President Bush: "I'm hetrosexual - he's a cowboy."
After withdrawing the item, Fox posted a statement on its Web site apologizing for the error. It said: "The item was based on a reporter's partial script that had been written in jest and should not have been posted or broadcast. We regret the error, which occurred because of fatigue and bad judgment, not malice."
Cameron has been a political reporter for Fox News since 1996, Schur said.
