What I've been working on

Some scarves from the vault of magikjaz:







(ends are crimped cuz I frogged another project to use the yarn to make a scarf)

this one was done in a thing glittery yarn. very pretty! actually designed to be a belt, but could also be a slitzy club scarf ... or even a hippy dippy headband

This next one was also made with another project I frogged so the fringes are crimped. Only until they get washed of course.

and one i actually finished last night but didn't get to take awesome pics of today cuz it was raining and gloomy



All of these, plus a couple others, are going up on etsy tomorrow after I measure them so I can list dimensions. I have one more scarf I'm working ..ing tonight and then next week I think I'm working on dishcloths.

Newest wip

wordpress

    The more I use it, the more i can see the appeal of wordpress. it's more like a site centered around a blog and less of just a blog itself. That kind of appeals to me. I mean I love my blogger blog, and I've discovered that transferring over to wordpress will require more work than just a couple clicks of the mouse (regardless of what they told me lol) but in going over a friend's blog today that uses wordpress, I really  liked what she has done.

I have to confess, I really like having something to work on that is a little more than just "cuz I wanna". I have enlisted the help of my sister and really would like my friend the fizzle to help with as well. of course I'm still working out ideas in my head and I have many ideas for the future (which I'm writing down so I don't forget them) this idea of mine really really excites me. and if you see me irl and that's all i can talk about I apologize.

Another idea running around in my life is getting a table at a local craft show with da banshee to seel some of our items. (she makes awesome jewelry and knits ... I'm a crochet queen as we all know) that's uber exciting to me. Of course there are some startup costs, like display stuff and packaging (i.e. bags to give people their stuff in once they buy it ... cuz they WILL buy it) but it should be fairly negligible and I think it will be way worth it in the end. (and thusly why I'm working like crazy on scarves at the moment ... next up are dishcloths)

but back to the web idea ... I did decide to go with photobucket over flickr. I'm gonna test out flickr myself tho in these next 30 days (since I've decided May is all about the pictars)

so I asked for blog input earlier ....

and I got a couple responses. thanks! I think I'm sticking with blogger for my regular blog and wordpress for this new one. I like the fact that wordpress allows you to make pages within your blog, kinda like have a domain without so much work. I also like that you can set the index page. That makes it fun.

in case you didn't see it, I'm making a new blog footballforwomen which I'm really excited about. The draft inspired me this weekend to get off my butt and get that football teaching thing going that Gina and a couple others suggested to me last year. what better time than now.

So I'm going to set up a page for each team and I'm also working on learning how to edit my videos in windows movie maker (if anyone has another FREE suggestion that you like more I'm totally open to it) so I can use video to illustrate points as well.

I'm really excited about this! It looks like a corner of the market that isn't really being addressed online. I know there are a couple books about it but this would be kind of a real time thing! if only I had a laptop I could have live chats during games and stuff!

But I'm getting ahead of myself here. and I have until september to get a laptop. who knows!

I do have one question for anyone reading this tho.

Do you think the fact that I've labelled it "football for women" is in anyway alienating or condescending? I mean I'm a woman. I just thought it sounded coolest. (did I mention i made this site at like 2am lol)

anyway, i gotta get some laundry done. so please tell me what you think!!!

some moar tiger game stuff

it wasn't even the closest one to us. There was one that almost hit me in the head. Kevin knocked over his chair to try and get to it ... and almost bowled over Paws too!!!

Speaking of Paws ... the 7th inning stretch dance was right in front of us

Ideally it should NEVER be acceptable ... but I will make exceptions for babies ... especially those that you can't tell if it's a boy or a girl at first glance (and there are lots of those for me)

but seriously .... PINK TIGER PAWS!!!???!!! They have colours for sports teams for a reason! GAH!!!!
