OMG WE GOT A HOUSE!!

I can't believe I forgot to blog this!!! While we were in New Orleans we got a call Monday morning....they accepted our bid on the house in Redford!!!!!

Kevin and I went to our Realtor's office Saturday and Kevin made the official offer and signed all the paperwork...115K (5K below asking) and we crossed our fingers. We figured we wouldn't hear anything until when we got back, but then came the call Monday! We will get all appliances (washer, dryer, dishwasher, stove, fridge) plus it has a pool!!!! I can't wait! I'm gonna start packing this weekend...probably Sunday when my feet are a little better.

Kevin's supposed to talk to Steve tomorrow and go fill out more paperwork for the house and then we'll know more regarding the timeline and such. I can't believe it! No more apartment living!!!! YAY!!!!

New Orleans Trip!

This is from my post yesterday on the Yahoo Purkle Couch...I'll fill you in more once i get the pics up:

It was so much fun! I'm waiting for my camera batteries to charge so i can upload them to the puter and show everyone. We flew into New Orleans Sunday afternoon and my cousin and her family picked us up from the airport. We went back to our hotel and then walked around the French Quarter a bit (our hotel was in the quarter a block from Bourbon street) They took us on a carriage ride around teh quarter (so expensive!!) and then we went for dinner (gumbo @ the gumbo shop *yum*) They left as it started to get dark cuz they live about an hour away so we freshened up at the room and waited for my sis and her hubby to get in. That's when it becomes abit of a blur lol. Musta been the Hurricanes...or maybe the Hand Grenades.

Monday we did serious walking around the quarter showing my sis and hubby the sights (Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral (my cousin got married there), the Mississippi River...) Then took the St. Charles Streetcard to the Garden District to look at the pretty houses out there. We didn't get to take pics cuz it got dark but we saw Anne Rice's old home and Trent Reznor's former place (his was creepy) The air was heavy with the perfumes of the flowers and plants in the garden's of the homes...night blooming jasmine, honeysuckle, magnolias, etc.... Now i know what Anne Rice is talking about in her books when she describes the night air in New Orleans. It was heavenly! When we passed by Anne Rice's home a big group of elderly distinguished gentlement came out and Kevin said it looked like a scene out of Rosemary's Baby like they had just finished up their satanic rituals in the secret room upstairs lol. And when we went by Reznor's the new owner was doing work on the home and so they had a port-a-john in the driveway and Kevin used it lol.

Tuesday we toured Our Lady of Guadelupe chapel and tried to tour the cemetary but it closed at 3pm so we walked around more of teh quarter, got to go into the St. Louis Cathedral and lit some candles for my family there. That night we tried to go to Cat's Meow to do karaoke (I coulda been on karaokecam.com) but we got there too late. Wednesday it was the tour of St. Louis Cemetary No. 1 where we found Marie LeVeau's supposed tomb (she was a voodoo queen back in the day) then a ride on the ferry across the Mississippi and a stroll thru Riverwalk Marketplace (a mall on the river), dinner, then a Haunted History tour (our guide is going to be on the Sci-Fi show GhostHunters in August) and to finish the evening a drive to the other side of New Orleans to see the midnight showing of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (which Kevin and Jose (my sister's hubby) loved and I found quite cheesy with some really bad acting from Anakin Skywalker, but a good story nonetheless...altho i could have done without the 5 billion lightsaber fights and the scene of Yoda doing a triple backflip thru the air lol)

That's when we went back to the hotel and packed cuz we have to leave for the airport at 5am *groan* so we got a whole hour nap. Got home around 2:30pm and now i need a vacation from my vacation. My feet hurt and I am so exhausted from lack of sleep last night, but I wouldn't trade it for anything! I love New Orleans!!!!

*hugs*
