Doing final stuffs to get ready for Allen Park this weekend cuz I'm staying at my mom's house (again) this weekend so i have to make sure i have everything packed cuz if i'm missing anything i'm screwed. So today is alot of assembling and putting things in order ets.
Combine that with the loss of about 15 bracelets earlier this week as well as the loss of about 5 bracelets, my ball chain & necklace making findings and I'm just pissy and not feeling well about stuff. I have to go back and remake crap i already made. Which i didn't do this week at all. All i did was make more pendants (mostly HP and twilight) which also makes me feel not creative.
BLEH. I just look at things other people do and it amazes me. Things that come from their own heads and stuff. I feel like i just copy what other people are already doing and it just makes me sad.
I'll be out of this funk in a couple hours i'm sure, but i needed to get it out of my head and feel sorry for myself.
P.S. i really miss blogging. I need to do more of it. Maybe Sept will be my personal NaBloPoMo

In complete shock
Just got some family news that shocked the hell out of me, and not in a good way. My heart is broken and I can't stop crying. I'll elaborate later when i know more details. And so no one worries, it's not health or life related. No one's dying/dead/sick.

Less than 36 hours away
is the Wyandotte street fair and i already know i don't have enough product, which makes me sad. The resin overflowed on some of my bottlecaps and they stuck to the paper they were drying on, so i lost about 1/6 of them. And I'm pretty sure my rings aren't gonna be dry in time to have them out on wednesday, so they'll be there later in the week.
I had a friend make some bracelet displays for me based on banshee's awesome store bought one cuz a) i'm cheap and b) he was willing. They turned out pretty good. You can tell they're handmade, which i don't really mind. They're T bars of PVC pipe covered in felt and stuck into a plywood base. I had to reinforce them at the joint cuz they were kinds wobbly (i used cording) and it stabilized them AND gives them a slight rustic feel, which is kinda cool.
I'm still debating with myself as to whether or not i should take my crochet work. I only have 2 afghans and a couple baby blankets. We'll see how motivated i am. The less i have to cart around the better it is. And since it all has to fit in banshee's vehicle - well - we'll just see how it goes.
When hubby gets home i think we're gonna go grab a couple beers at the local pub to chillax cuz tomorrow's the long haul. I have to drill all my pendants (as long as they're dry) and a bunch of bottlecaps (to make bracelets) and pack everything up. I also have to do some laundry so i have clothes to wear for the duration of the fair.
(on a side note, I went clothes shopping yesterday and got some super cute and comfy capris, shorts and tshirts. They all fit perfectly yesterday. Today they feel looser. Guess I'm not as bloated or something. I plan on goin back tho and getting more colours in the tshirts cuz they were only $15 and i love how they look on me)(and altho i'm sad that i had to get a size larger than last year, at least it was only 1 size. and hopefully my continued walking on the treadmill as well as the upcoming festivals we're gonna be at will help)
Speaking of festivals, I got our location notification from Allen Park. It's booth #143 and it's on Allen road near the Ecorse Rd side on the north side of the street. Kinda in the middle of the block and away from the stage and stuff. Hopefully it will be decent tho.

what i've been up to
in case you haven't guessed, i'm working on getting ready for the Wyandotte Art Fair next week. I'm quite sure i'm not gonna have enough product but what the hell. I suppose (as i'm said to a couple people) that the worst thing that could happen is that i sell out of everything i have and have to race to make more in time for the Redford Fair July 25&26. Or is that the best thing? Anyway, here's hoping things go well.
I just spent 3 days prepping bottlecaps and finally got the resin in them 2nite around 8PM. The ones i used real polyester resin with are already hardening, the ones i had to use the EasyCast resin with are still mighty soft to the touch. Either way I'm waiting 3 days for them to finish "cooking" so i can drill them. Might even wait 4 days and drill them all on Tuesday. We'll see how i feel.
Tonight I'm making a 3rd big pendant board along with a small one just for the zodiac signs. I think i'm gonna put a cheat sheet on that one too in the center so people have reference of what sign is what.
In the course of doing the show on Sunday I somehow managed to lose a bag of 16" necklace cords I had made (about 50 of them) and the notecard with the address of someone who custom ordered from me at the show. I've frantically torn through everything i took that day and still can't find anything. I am hoping that they will turn up, especially the addy, cuz she pre-paid and I don't want her to think i'm running away with her money.
I"m also waiting on a rubber jump ring order from theringlord.com. it said that it would take 7 - 14 days so I'm REALLY praying that they arrive by Tuesday (which is 14 days from when i ordered them) otherwise I won't have the supplies to make something that's already been pre-ordered.
i'm seriously stressing about all this. My back has broken out and according to a friend last night i have huge black circles under my eyes. In spite of myself i took a quick 45 minute nap tonight after the caps were finished. i really needed it i think. I didn't really sleep. I listened to sirius XM first wave channel and kinda let myself drift around. But now I feel like i wasted an hour of my life when i could have been working on stuffs.
crap! and i still have a pair of earrings that need to get mailed out!
On top of this, there's plans for mini high school reunions which i'm sure are stressing me out even if i'm trying to play it cool. The prospect of seeing girls i totally admired and boys i had crushes on back then is daunting. And while i'm confortable (mostly) with the fact that I've become a larger woman, the fact that i'm still missing a front tooth does play into the anxieties.
okay, time to quit whining and get back to work. I gotta finish that pendant board tonight and start working on a couple chainmaille pieces.

Wyandotte Art Fair info
So, banshee and I are gonna be part of the 'dap this year at the wyandotte street fair. We wont' know exactly where we are until we get there wednesday morning, but we DO know we are gonna be in the vicinity of 1st and elm (where the Wyandotte theatre used to be) We will have our own tent, so don't look for us under the big communal 'dap tent. (but do go in there and check out the other awesome artist and stuff!!! there's some gorgeous work going on there!) We will be there everyday July 8 - 11 from 10am - 9pm selling our stuffs. And even tho we aren't in the beer tent area there will be some awesome local bands playing on the 'dap stage (which will be solar powered) so check them out too!!! I'm so very excited to see everyone! Please stop by if you can! and don't be shy about bringing a chair or something to hang out with us for awhile!!! and if you show up in the mornings - coffee is much appreciated ;)

a new addition to our family
I'm quite sure we weren't supposed to know about it in the manner we did. Gotta love how buying your 7 year old son a cell phone works out sometimes ;)
He called to make sure i was working on specific bottlecaps they had asked for (which i didn't - i just didn't have time - i'll make some in the next batch after the wyandotte fair) and in the process he was all "Aunt Jazmyn guess what! Guess who's coming over on Saturday?" "Who?" "My sister. yes. i have a sister now."
At first I thought that his parents had gone through with their plans on adopting a baby girl. The had mentioned it a couple times recently since they've had nothing but boys. It didn't help matters that hubby's mom always wanted a granddaughter and i guess they figured that it would kinda be in her honor. (that sentence doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but my brain is too tired to try and clarify it)
But nope! Z told me that she's 17 years old and she's coming over on Saturday and he'll get to meet her. Then he told me he's gonna see me at the art fair on the 11th and reminded me about his bday party on the 12th. then we were abruptly cut off.
So yea. we have a new niece who is 17. I'm kinda nervous but totally excited to meet her. I don't know if J ever knew about her and just didn't tell anyone, or if her mom kept it a secret until now or what. I have no clue. I do know (from experience with my bio father) that she's gonna want to get to know her family and I'm hoping we can make her feel welcome.
