I got me some new cats

A friend of ours had some unexpected curcumstances where he had to move from his house and into an apt. He has 5 cats. The apt. will only allow him 2. So last week he asked us if we would be willing to foster a cat or 2. I said sure. It's only until his kids come back so they can claim them (they're out of state right now)

He brought them over today. Bill Cosby is a tabby with white booties and Salem is a black cat. I must say Kaguya has handled it fairly well.

I did it the wrong way tho. I introduced them fact-to-face immediately. I just read online at the humane society website that is NOT the way to go about it. You must set the new cat(s) in a seperate room with all their supplies and allow the cats to get familiar with each other thru smell and eventually introduce them face to face. Otherwise they could exhibit aggrssive behavior to one another that might never go away.

Since Kaguya has been hissing and Bill Cosby has been meowing right back at him (Salem has hid and I dont know where he is) and I finally read the article I should have read 3 days ago, I set BC and Salem in the back room where Kaguya's litter box was and moved Kaguya's box into the back computer room. Well I hope Salem's back there. I can't find him anywhere in the house. I know he didn't get out... I just don't know exactly where he is.

I hope they get along after awhile. Kaguya is traumatized at the moment I just know it. This has been her sole domain for almost exactly a year (we got her oct 14th 2005) so I know she's not gonna be happy about sharing it. I only pray she can acclimate. And forgive me. She's ignoring me right now. She's not even eating any treats I give her. *sigh*

As soon as I can I'll get some pics of the new cats to share and keep you posted on their progress living here.
